In Dutch Custom the Groom delivers the Brides
Bouquet
Entering the Historic 500 year old City Hall
were our ceremony took place in IJsselstein
On the left is Sheryl Buckland, my Master of Ceremony or Maid of Honor
equivalent
in some ways. She is British. On the left is Suzan Pieters Lemont, a
fellow American
love immigrant who read a special poem in honor of my father who died earlier in
the year.
Greeting the local townspeople and guests who
typically gather outside to
publically show support and cheer you on. A very cool custom! Some
of the
shopkeepers I had gotten to know came over to wave hello.
One of my favorite bits of the whole wedding
thing in Holland. The Bride and Groom
SIT DOWN for the whole ceremony. In our case, we got to sit in regal and
comfy
King and Queen type chairs. Very fitting in my wee humble opinion.
Off to the right is Clarity Jonkers filming the vows.
That's it for now. It
was an amazing day and we have lots of gorgeous photo's but I had so much
fun making the wedding album in true "scrapper"style that I didn't get many
pictures scanned.
