Coexist on earth as it is in…

September 28th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Peace, Spirituality (Not Religion)

Here on earth, for as long as Ever
Everyone fights to prove “what’s right”
But I wonder if I should tell them
What I know is in my heart…
All our God’s like to party
And it’s been that way from the start!

Buddha’s playing on the Bongos
While God and Allah tell their jokes
And the one whose name can’t be spoken
Laughs so hard he almost chokes

Mother Earth and Sister Mary dance while reading poetry
Gandhi watches chin in hand pondering all possibility
Pagans plant aromatic gardens, blooming with all that delights the eye
While Wiccan’s stir the soup for dinner and Jesus makes the apple pie

Krishna, Shiva, Vishnu and Ganesha
And their 300 and 33 million friends
Hold a class in Paradise yoga making up all the latest bends

The monks are passing out the ale, the orange robes, the honey wine
And the rabbi’s stoke the blazing fires to light the charcoal for hookah time.
Mother Teresa smiles at everyone finally feeling no more pain
While all the saints are playing poker and even trying to “win” in vain.

Confucius passes the peace pipe while White Buffalo Lady sings a song
And Zoroaster gets a tattoo, wondering why he waited so long
In my heart I see it clearly, all the deities get along
In my heart I know it truly all religions do belong

Paradise, Sanctuary, Heaven, Hell,
Really, who gives a damn?
What I believe is way more fun
Then killing others in the name of them

All are healing, all are healthy
All promote the way of love
And when I die I hope to party with the greatest gods above!

Best Friends

April 15th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Friendship, Healing, Spirituality (Not Religion)

“What will i do when i get older?” said the little girl.

“Take one day at a time”, said the older one.

But i’m scared!

Have faith in your dreams.

Will i be alone?

Only in your heart.

Will you hold my hand?

Every time I pray.

Julia’s Garden

April 14th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Friendship, Nature, Spirituality (Not Religion)

Behold a garden for your journey ~ Stop and pick a flower or two
Be gentle upon our Nature’s Bounty ~ Enjoy the kiss of morning dew

Respect the animals that roam free ~ Bring your child out to play
Color a note from the rainbow ~ Part gladly that you came this way

July 1997

Written for the opening of my very first website – Julia’s Garden.   It so embodied my spirit at that time.  Most of that website still represents who I am internally, a little wiser, a little harder but still holding on to hope and joy.

Soul mates of Another Kind

April 13th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Friendship, Kindred Spirits, Love Poems, Spirituality (Not Religion)

Soul mates of Another Kind

Soul mates of another kind
They say my thoughts
And read my mind
They know my fears
They share them too
They type my sentences before I do
Their smile’s my reflection
Their voice my own
We have separate bodies
But one internal home

Always amazed each time I find one
Always thrilled to meet another
These soul mates of another kind
Are lifelong friends not fleeting lovers
I seem to know them “as if forever”
Time doesn’t notice when we met
That bond of “something special’s flowing”
Both face to face or across the “Net”
It doesn’t matter what’s their gender
What’s their age or who they know
My soul mates of another kind
Exist within me and never go

December 21, 1997

My kindred spirits are soul mates with me throughout my life. I don’t believe a soul mate is one designated person to be your lover. My soul enjoys sharing with all the special ones in my life.

Kindred Spirits

April 13th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Kindred Spirits, Love Poems, Spirituality (Not Religion)

Kindred Spirits

If we should touch, hand to heart
You would feel my soul within you.
Knowing not, from where we end
The start of melding flesh and sinew.

Magical and mysterious.
Illogical and curious.
Beyond the present state of mind
A kindred spirit can’t be defined.

But gentle as the morning air
And consistent as the setting sun.
A kindred love is always there
Predestined to the other ones.

We know no space or time constraints
We see and feel internally
We somehow sense the others thoughts
We share these bonds permanently.

Once touched by a kindred’s love
You’ll recognize them everywhere.
They have no gender, age or race
Or length of time set for you to share.

The purpose of this special bond
Has yet to reveal itself to me
But kindred’s have helped to free my soul
Teach me love, guide and protect me.

Found a kindred in your life?
Cherish your luck, offer your time
No deeper moment will you know
No greater blessing will you find.

August through October, 1997

Written in an attempt to define the spiritual and intense friendships and acquaintances I have had over the years that happen without effort but seem to have great purpose.

One World, One Peace

April 13th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Acceptance, Peace, Spirituality (Not Religion)

One World, One Peace

Peace begins within

Like a simple silent prayer

To want quiet for the world

To wish release from despair

And food for the many

Requires nurturing your soul

To give to others

In spite of what you know

Religion is division

Let your “one” god go

Acceptance above all others

Is a holy valuable

Reach out to the masses

By loving you and yours

A simple act of kindness

Can spread to foreign shores

~ Wednesday, August 06, 2008 ~

Written because I believe peace is more about shifting the human compassion meter up quite a few notches and less about waiting for governments to do what’s right.  You may not be able to change how government reacts but you CAN change how you act.
